I was quite critical of Mattie McGrath in the past (I’d say queuing up to meet Biden after his administration blew up the Nordstream pipeline may have influenced my opinion), but I must say of late he has proven himself to be an honest and decent man and is there solely to represent the Irish people. We can all be guilty at times of judging people on their faults rather than their merits and I have been guilty of this myself at times, so it must be said that McGrath has many good qualities.
He has stood with the Irish people on the streets now on a few occasions. In Fermoy and Roscrea in particular. He has stood with certain characters that were guaranteed to get him some flak. PBP lunatics, Paul Murphy and Mick Barry predictably called him out for it in the Dáil, under privilege and he responded admirably, dismissing them for the psychotic zealots they are.

He has helped shine a light on the Land Registry with the help of Master of the High Court, Edmund Honohan, exposing some of the things going on in the Irish legal system in an Oireachtas committee (a can of worms with only the surface scratched, one would imagine).
He has called out Varadkar’s involvement with the World Economic Forum on a number of occasions now (if somewhat haphazardly in the first instance, but far more calmly and assured in this speech). But as he admitted here, in the link above, he sometimes makes mistakes, which I have to say coming from the mouth of a political figure is refreshing. People change and grow, I’d rather see honesty than the type of lies and rubbish that oozes from everyone in Fine Gael.
He also gave us some clarity and an insight into the type of thing that went on, when that animal Tony Holohan temporarily seized control of the country, during the Covid hoax. He told McGrath, “we will do the lockdown first and the science later”. Of all the politicians in the Dáil he has been consistently on the side of the Irish people over the past number of years.
I know we have a tendency to view all politicians as the enemy, because that is how the globalists are attacking us through the legislative and regulatory system, making the laws so insane that you eventually become a criminal for merely existing.
But it must be hard too, finding yourself trapped inside a totalitarian regime, that you believed to be a democracy. McGrath seems to be going through his own awakening process in real time, because I’ve been watching him closely and he seems to be understanding more and more how the game works. That is not easy.
He has become a lot better at getting his point across. He deserves kudos for his performance of late. Credit where it’s due. What I will say to Mattie McGrath is, keep going. Stay the course and continue on this path, you are on the right side of history.
The people need someone to keep our talking points alive inside the Oireachtas. Sharon Keoghan has done similar good work in the Seanad. Keoghan along with Michael McDowell and Ronan Mullins have played a major role in stalling the hate speech legislation and giving us time for greater scrutiny. The outside world are talking about it and McEntee and Irish government are the laughing stock of the globe for drafting such a draconian document.
I don’t agree with all of these people on many issues, (particularly the pearl clutching reaction of some of them, to the hilarious makeshift gallows on Kildare Street), but on the main issues facing the country, I must concede they have been on the right side most of the time. We need to show a level of maturity now if we are to save this great nation from total destruction. We can’t be absolutists. None of us are going to agree on everything and that’s where open, honest and rigorous debate comes in to bridge those gaps. Not idiotic, authoritarian concepts like hate speech laws, which make a mockery of our hard earned republic.
When politicians show a willingness to speak up against the tyranny we are being subjected to, I feel the best approach going forward now is to support them, because things are going to get a lot more serious and scary from here on in and we will need all the help we can get! It can’t be easy speaking up within the system as some FF councillors recently found out.
Now that these independents are saying more and more all the time, we need to give them our support. We have done our bit in terms of educating the public, now that is seeping into the establishment, even into the government parties. We the people, can only do so much in terms of raising awareness, we have no statutory power. At some point we will need to use the system (as much as that pains me to say as an artist). To do that, we need to change more minds within it and also create the talking points to facilitate that change.
This is a slow process and will sadly take time, but now the people are once more meeting in person and the mainstream media are all but dead. We have driven the discussion ourselves despite the censorship and dirty tactics and have now cemented our narrative into the zeitgeist. The public mind has always been - no matter what they say - the driver of change and not big business and/or ideology. Once the people lose interest it’s game over. That’s beginning to have an effect. The heat from the grassroots is beginning to be felt at the next level up.
In physics there is a basic law called convection. When heat is applied it has a tendency to rise. As humans we are also at the mercy of these forces. So far, all of the pressure has come from the top down. We need to reverse that dynamic, but we can’t do it alone. We have conducted ourselves admirably in 2023 and have shown what a vigilant citizenry can do. We have begun to show signs that we deserve the republic those incredible, courageous men died to leave to us. In 2024 we need to fight even smarter and innovate once more.
We need to set the system upon itself in order to beat it.
Mattie Mc Grath TD puts Family and Country first. In my eyes that makes him a giant of a Man.He is not afraid of calling out our government on Davos, or WEF . He makes Mary Lou look like a fish wife.God Bless you Mattie and may God steer your hand with all of those onboard with you.
Agree. Thank you to Mattie McGrath and to you for the reminder.
