Has there ever been a more appropriate character name?

They say art imitates life and that was certainly true yesterday in Dublin. The sight of pitiful eejit millionaire, Liam Cunningham, giving up his bank holiday Monday to protest with a handful of civil servants and NGO grifters against Ireland’s interests, was not just embarrassing it was also oddly reminiscent of the character he plays in the blockbuster series Game of Thrones.

Ser Davos Seaworth, the character played by Cunningham is an unconditional order follower, just like his real world useful idiot, thespian. A smuggler by trade in the series and a supporter of people trafficking in reality. Cutting a dejected - but yet somehow still smug - figure at the GPO, while demonstrating for Davos against his own people, he must surely have realised that the ‘far right’ have become a force too great for his feeble efforts and one perhaps now even great enough to claim the Iron Throne itself.

The crowd that passed him and his Marxist buddies appeared endless and seemed to keep coming as they were encircled and protected by the Gardaí in their luminous jackets. The photo above is a telling one and merely a still. He would have had to endure this sight for a good few minutes (21 I’m told) as between 10-15 thousand decent Irish people walked by indifferent waving tricolours.

There’s a few lads in tents on the canal Liam, I’m sure you can take a few into your mansion. Surely you have a spare room? Give Kitty Holland a bell on her mobile, she appears to be camped down there with them constantly and may be able to arrange a lift for one or two since you are so welcoming.
