I don't know if you were there Stephen but there was no imported agitator, state actor or what have you, element to it.

It was basically one guy who has few more around him and has drawn in some more on private groups he has. He goes everywhere looking for trouble and throwing a punch when he can. There's even an attempt at a black block thing going on. He enjoys it, he enjoys the feedback in the groups, there's no strategic thinking involved.

Once it got started a few people joined in the nonsense with Healy Rae, people who I have stood beside before as they chatted peacefully with TDs.

There were about 300 there over the day. 280 of them would have made a decent protest of it.

Anything that puts a smile on the face of Antifa and RTE is a bad mistake. No one should be wasting their time trying to defend it.

Presumably the same thing happens here as happened with Graham Carey and Kev Coyle. There's an arrest and suddenly the likes and the private groups don't seem that important and we don't hear much from certain parties any more.

Meanwhile we seem to be moving on and street protest will fade in to the background in importance. A lot of the people from Wednesday will be left behind. A lot of people who have felt they needed to keep their heads down up til now will begin to come forward and take over. Hopefully.
